Subjcet : Donation to Bhil Seva Mndal, Dahod, Dist : Dahod (Gujarat State)

Dear Sir,

Bhil Seva Mandal, Dahod by its deeds and actions is quite well known, not only in Gujarat state, but in other tribal parts of the country. Its benevolent activities particularly for the upliftment of educationally, economically and socially backward and down trodden Adiwasis of the area bordering Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are too well known to be recounted here.

With its name memories come alive of personalities like Mahatma Gandhiji, the Father of the Nation and at his instance Rev. A.V.Thakkar, affectiontely known as Thakkar Bapa, Came to the rescue of this area where scarcity and famine are recurring phenomenon and tribal people become the main victims of this natural calamity. He started Bhil Seva Mandal in the year 1923 with a view to uplifting weaker sections of the society particularly the tribal people. He in his lifetime nurtured the Mandal to the position of eminence that it occupies today in the comity of Tribal Service Organizations.

Government both State and Central have recognized the services rendered to the Adiwasis by the Mandal and therefore receives grants from the Govt. However to expand its need based programme Mandal always stands in need of financial assistance from the philanthropic public of the state and outside.

We may here give a short resume of our activities. The Mandal conducts mainly Educational Institutions which are as under :

I am glad to inform you that the Finance Department Government of India is kind enough to approve a project of educational expansion for Rs. 9,11,79,300/- to Bhil Seva Mandal, Dahod.

Community life and prayers are the main features of the Ashram life. Basic education is imparted to moe than 11,000 students with free lodging and boarding facilities.

This apparently involves huge expenditure and existing resources both in the form of Govt. grants and donations are not quite sufficient for development and other educational activities. We therefore appeal to the large hearted philanthropic persons for donation to the worthy cause to which this institute is wedded.

All donations to Bhil Seva Mandal, Dahod are exempted under 80G (5) and U/s 35 A.C. of Income Tax Act, 1961 under notification No. S.0. 1649(E) dated 12-7-2010. Ministry of Finance, Government  of India.
